- Type 58: there is no difference in the hitbox size of various engine models
- the camo factor of a firing tank is changed at the moment of the shot, not the shell impact
- SerB considers it okay that the Chinese competition (max experience, we have it the same) can be influenced by gold shell clan platoons
- China won't have a "dead end" tier 5 scout vehicle (such as Chaffee, T-50-2, VK2801). In fact, all those scout branches ending with tier 5 will be prolonged so they don't end at low tiers
- a player reported a bug where vehicles run around with broken tracks, SerB says there is no such bug
- "Deadeye" perk doesn't affect the chance of the engine catching of fire directly, only indirectly

- Q: "Do you fear the War Thunder competition?" A: "Most of all, we fear Farmville" (SS: SerB didn't say exactly Farmville, but its Russian equivalent, I changed it to make the joke more comprehensible)
- BT-5 might become a Chinese premium LT, but not in next few patches
- IS-3 confirmed NOT to become a premium tank
- SU-85(i) and Panzer IV Hydro are not going to be sold in the shops, they are promo/gift vehicles, not clear when they will be given
- It's planned to introduce the possibility to view replays straight from (within) the client (SS: so there will be no need to quit the game and doubleclick the replay itself)
- You recieve less XP by firing on targets that are lower tier than you

- different types of shells have different colored tracers, HE shells have orange tracers, so that the arty can recognize other arties. subcaliber (APCR, APDS) shells have light, short and transparent tracers (because it's basically just a small piece of tungsten flying), AP shells tracers look like subcaliber shells tracers but a lot more clear (they are longer, more visible and less transparent). HEAT tracers are yellow and very thin. Tracer colors are the same on all the servers.
- the devs are thinking about adding the Fog of War in random battles
- there will be no multiclassing (SS: a Hetzer with a 150mm short howitzer mentioned, that could work both as TD and as an arty at the same time), in the early development the devs thought about changing the class of the vehicle by adding different modules (for example SU-122 and SU-152 could work as an arty as well as a TD), but this idea was scrapped soon

- SerB confirmed the fact that when the arty branches are prolonged to tier 10, various arty branches will have new machines inserted on various tiers (SS: eg logically, it's not sure T7 will go to T9 and T8 to T10 automatically)
- 15vs15 companies won't be cancelled according to SerB, they make a great training ground for the CWs
- looks like the Fog of War won't be in randoms after all
- the devs don't introduce a bigger number of low-tier premiums into the game (despite having them prepared in advance) because sometimes, the vehicle designed to be premiums are used to "patch up" the holes in regular trees and to supplement upcoming branches
- it's not totally excluded for 3 branches of the same class to exist in one tree
- the spare tracks mounted on hulls/turrets of the ingame vehicles do not count as armor
- the 59-16 Chinese LT has an autoloader on its top gun. At the same time it can mount a rammer. The rammer reduceds the autoloader loading time, not time between shots - and it's not a bug
- tier 10 TD's have lower MM weight than tier 10 heavies

- tier 10 light tanks? "I am really not sure" (SS: apparently there was another leak from somewhere saying those might come eventually)
- WG doesn't plan to make a singleplayer game (SS: connected to the question what is WG going to do with the new console game US studio it bought)
- apparently, the Leopard's gun L7A3 might be even more accurate and have faster aiming than the one of the E-50M (SS: 0.28 mentioned)
- there is no en-masse amnesty planned for banned accounts, each case is handled individually
- no special matchmaking for platoons is planned (SS: for example for the cases where one team recieves one platoon of 3xHT8, another 2xMT6) to make them more balanced
- HE shells have no limit on module criticals damaged per shot, this only concerns crewmembers (SS: HE shell can never kill more than half of the crew with one shot, the borderline case being 3 of 5)
- SS: this is a bit indirect answer but from what I understood, there are no light tanks candidates for now for tier 10
- WG doesn't support the P2W attitude despite the fact that the Chinese (SEA) server sort of inclines to it
- T-34/100 has not yet been introduced as a premium vehicle, because there is the possibility of it being introduced as a regular vehicle
- SerB writes that the "late model" E-75 (designated "F") having a rear transmission is a hoax and that there are no existing graphic materials suggesting there was any such things, Doyle also agrees there was no such thing
- holes in tanks after they are hit have no effect on the armor (SS: eg if you hit a place where another shell has previously penetrated, it doesn't count as 0 armor area)
- both US and RU servers have roughly the same amount of people mass-using gold shells
- disabling one map from the random map pool? "Let's say we won't do it for now"
- the system where you can "forgive" teamdamage (SS: the teamdamager doesn't get "ban points" if you forgive him) is not going to be implemented
- tanks in game do not act as a arty splash barrier (SS: if a MS-1 stands hidden behind the Maus, an arty shell falls next to the Maus so that the Maus stands between it and the MS-1, if the splash is big enough to reach the MS-1, it will get damaged despite the fact it is covered)
- it's possible the British crews will get additional names in their name and surname pool in the future ("when it's done it's done")
- T-62A was introduced as the Object 165 without the smoothbore gun instead of the paper project Object 142 because 1) some T-62A's were actually built (around 100 pieces) and 2) Object 142 is practically the same as one of the T-54 versions that already is in the branch, it's possible (but not guaranteed) that the Object 142 will appear as a separate vehicle
- SerB doesn't see any suitable tanks for German premium T8 med tank
- smoke shells and generators are difficult to implement technically, they will come in distant future
- no plans to introduce earning gold in random battles

- Storm considers reworking the ingame hangar chat, no details yet
- premium British and Chinese heavies? "Definitely this year"
- El-Halluf doesn't have a higher chance to drop than other maps (SS: by "drop" I mean "to be chosen when selecting a map for next random battle" - sorry, WoW slang)
- the "in development" section will be updated before the 8.4 test begins (SS: the question was "can we expect the 8.4 test within 2 weeks, as 8.4 is scheduled for Feb/March? Might be a hint that the 8.4 is delayed"
- the ceiling height of each maps is very high, SerB doesn't tell how exactly, but "it's sufficient for any ballistic purposes"
- confirmed: no extra regular gold/XP per medals planned
- there are 3 "sizes" of ingame tracers, depending on the caliber
- regarding the placing of the M62-T2 gun on the vehicles, "historically, the gun was designed to replace the D-25T, wherever it was installed (IS-4, SU-122-54, T-10...) but by the time it was ready, the heavy tanks were declared obsolete
- the Indien-Panzer was confirmed to be a logical part of the new medium tank German branch
- a year is taken into consideration too, when introducing new tanks (SS: it is thus possible to find a vehicle that would fit into the game technologically, but it's "too new") (SS: so the Japanese Type 74 and the Merkava prototypes from the 70's won't fit apparently)
- with the introduction of tier 10 arties, the company allowed arty tiers will most likely change (eg. higher tier arties will be allowed for different modes), but the total company weight most likely won't. Basically there is some time limit ("and we determine what that limit is")
- SerB doesn't see any FPS issues with the sniper scope anymore
- Chinese Vickers has the engine in the back, but the transmission in the front
- Generally (SS: if I understood this correctly, not 100 percent sure), the AP shell normalisation does not depend on the caliber of the gun if the caliber is 2x as big as the thickness of the armor hit - and if the caliber is 3x as big as the thickness of the armor hit, the angle of impact counts as 90 degrees.
- SerB stated that Evilly (SS: that guy I translated the answers from) might have screwed up some of the answers, namely the one about Wargaming buying the mods.
- regarding the T-62B introduction: Q: "And what about the T-62B? It's if the same age as the Leopard" A: "Well, the Leopard will be introduced..."

- the tracks form an external module and they have their own armor value, so does the gun external module
- the tracks form sometimes one big compact module with no "holes", but sometimes, if the gaps between wheels are large enough, these gaps act as holes, eg. not a part of the module
- if an AP shell hits the tracks and punches thru them into the side armor, the armor of the tracks is deduced from the AP value of the projectile
- shells cannot richochet from hitting the tracks (SS: acts as sort of "speced armor", even though it doesn't count as one)
- if a shell penetrates the tracks, damages them, penetrates the side hull behind them and damages the tank, the tank damage is not diminished by the fact the shell already damaged the tracks (SS: each shell can cause two types of damage - the usual one that is listed in the gun properties and the undocumented one especially for modules, it is usually equal to the caliber of the gun - so, in other words, when a shell hits the tracks as mentioned before, the damage to the tracks counts as (unlisted) module damage and if the shell manages to penetrate the hull behind the tracks, it deals full (listed) damage). The only difference between external and internal modules (apart from the special armor value) is that the external modules don't get the "saving throw".

The exact formula for tracks armor penetration is (as an example)

(150mm (average pen) +-25% (187,5mm to 112,5mm)) - 70mm (tracks armor) = 117,5mm to 52,5mm penetration

- KV-1S won't lose the D-25 gun (SS: the question was actually whether the devs will remove the 122mm gun, move KV-1S to tier 5 and make a new KV-122 at tier 6)
- the Mk.III and Mk.V 6-pounder guns on US, French and British tanks are considered historical
- changes to the 6-pounder guns on Soviet Churchill, UK, US (M7 and T21) and the UE57 TD are not planned (SS: related to the previous question, eg. to make them all fit)
- the option of players researching the same module for various nations (SS: f.x. the same radio for the US and Chinese M5 Stuart) was tested but rejected
- apparently, the devs consider the ingame Matilda Black Prince historical (SS: it's not clear what the question meant as the original question was already deleted, presumably it concerned some armor sleeve around the turret, several Russian players mentioned that before)
- Q: "Sturmpanther planned?" A: "That's not a Sturmpanther. We don't comment on our plans." (SS: this relates to a rumor running around about a vehicle on the basis of Jagdpanther, but with 150mm StuH 43 howitzer)
- Shell air resistance won't be implemented for World of Tanks, because it would be too big a gameplay change (SS: SerB mentions such a thing might be in World of Warships, which will be more complex)
- apparently, the TOG II* name asterisk might mean "an improved version", because there were other examples thereof (a player mentions Medium Mk.II and Medium Mk.II***). According to the player, the original TOG II had a mock turret with a 6pdr gun, the TOG II* had a production turret with a 76mm gun. SerB is however not sure, he accepts it only as a theory
- 25 percent random coefficient won't be changed
- apparently, the "Sturmtiger in 2013" is just a rumor, BUT there was no real denial (SS: the answer was: "Will you ask about all the rumors you hear, or only about a half of them?")
- apparently, the devs are working on the "assault TD" class of vehicles (indirectly hinted at, SerB states their firing trajectory will look like the one of the old KV-2)
- new RU record: 740k online
- the devs try to issue cca 2 premium vehicles per patch, there might be even more occasionally, but the devs want to focus on the regular branches more

- the devs tried making a 20-30 members per team battles on the current maps - it was a mess and the client couldn't handle it technically (SS: as in "too many objects to draw")

A: "Well, there was that one time on a business trip after 5 hours of nonstop swearing I did lie down on a couch in my jacket to have a nap and Viktor Kisliy started to bring in "mausoleum excursions"..."
- FV4202 shells don't ricochet more than usual
- aim spread is determined by the gun module and the turret module, not by different shells
- regarding the Japanese tanks and Evilly's answer about the 280mm guns (SS: the player who's asking look for that and all he found was the turret from the Yamato battleship). SerB answers regarding the tier 10 tank: "It's not a battleship Yamato turret, it's most likely a turret with the coastal defense 140mm gun. We'll see in a few months how it goes."
- platoon fight statistics are not taken into account when deciding vehicle balance
- SerB states that if he remembers correctly, if you have a full crew BIA as first perk and 6th Sense as second perk trained to 95 percent, it will work when the BIA is active.
- the devs won't disclose now how much XP will be needed to unlock new arty vehicles when the tier 10 arty is introduced ("wait for the test")
- CW tier 6 and 8 battles, like in the lower tier companies? "We discussed it, it was refused. But there might be special events where this is possible."
- devs don't think the gold ammo for credits created a disbalance in the game
- no matter how many trees you bring down at one location, camo-wise all the fallen trees will count as one bush, this is intentional so the players don't create "superbushes" with high camo values
- ammunition price is calculated while taking the gun caliber, gun damage, penetration, year of the gun introduction and balance into account (all at once)
- WoT for tablets would take up to 2 years to develop, it's not only about porting the game, but also about re-working the project.
- it's economically more advantageous to set a tank on fire or ammorack it - it counts as damage credit-wise, but the shells will cost less, it's also better XP-wise, as crits award bonus XP
- Japanese medium branch will consist of known real life tanks (Chi-Ha, Chi-Ri, STA, STB mentioned), while the heavy branch will be more like "unknown" heavy projects, Japanese special consumable is not decided yet, SerB thought about a cup of sake, but that's not possible due to the game age restriction
- Soviet low-level tanks, such as T-60, T-70, T-80, T-19, T-24 and T-46-5? "When it's done it's done"
- Zimmerit is not excluded for the future, but it won't be introduced now
- a "buy back your accidentally dismissed crew" option is not planned
- free camera in replays? "maybe"
- Panther II with Panther I turret won't be introduced as a German tier 8 medium, as this option is already in the game (stock PII)
- there won't be additional crew ranks above "Major", because historically such high ranks didn't drive tanks, even Major is high enough (SS: not to be taken literally, there probably were SOME high ranking officers driving tanks)
- 0.8.4 won't necesserily bring more than 2 re-worked maps (despite the fact 0.8.3 didn't have any re-worked maps at all). "Wait for the patchnotes"

- after the nerf, it's confirmed less players play arty, no word on any further arty nerfs

- no exact ETA on the test, Storm states that "In development" portal section will get updated once the test begins (SS: logically that means it's not accurate now and that the february/march ETA for 8.4 is speculative)
- Leopard 1 won't be implemented earlier than summer 2013 (SS: this does NOT mean it will be implemented in summer, only that it will definitely not come till summer)
- Havok won't be implemented earlier than summer 2013 (SS: ditto)
- The graphical things that are going to be gradually improved (SS: not in any particular order): general graphics optimalisation, colour grading, quality and amount of dynamic lighting, tree and grass render, water render, special effects (SS: the video itself was linked by Storm, but he states it doesnt have to look like this actually, the colours can look differently, it's planned for the "medium" future - which means probably around a year)
- it's technically possible to introduce gradual increase in hull rotation in first split second, but it won't be implemented since the players got used to the current system already (SS: what this means is that especially some TDs, that have narrow gun arcs, but great hull turn rate sort of "jerk" whenever the hull moves, even a little, a player suggested that the initial 0,25-0,5s of steering should be smoother)
- massive tank rebalance won't happen in one of the near patches

Ja tam i tak odwiedzam codziennie forum więc podoba mi się że Shoikan zamieszcza te info bo nie muszę szukać na innych stronach, a angielski to uniwersalny język więc nie przeszkadza mi w czytaniu.
Choć rozumiem że nie każdy musi umieć jęz. angielski.

- both the top version of the Soviet IS tank with the 122mm gun (and with the frontal hull armor "divided in the middle" (two parts with different angles) and the one with "streamlined" sloped armor without different angles) are correctly historically designated as "IS-2"
- the hull with the "divided armor" was selected for the tier 7 IS because there was never such a thing as an IS tank with 85mm gun and streamlined armor
- it was considered to divide the IS tank into more vehicles, but then it was denied, as the IS variants aren't very different from each other

Hardly any new answers today, I guess the devs are busy with the dev stuff... well, apart from the usual SerB trolling (a player asking a question in Ukrainian, SerB answers something like "speak proper Russian".... in Hungarian).

- Storm says Jagdpanzer E100 statistics are fine
- SU-100Y uses two types of AP shells (one with high pen and lower damage, the golden ones with higher damage and lower pen), this is intentional and will be kept so
- Kpz70 won't be introduced
- new re-worked maps shouldn't be as bumpy as the older re-worked stuff
- new maps should come "soon"
- according to SerB, EU server is better than RU cluster lag-wise, as the European data streams (? data ways? not sure what the proper IT term is - anyway, the paths thru which the data go) are better
- FV4005 was refused as a top TD "for a good reason"
- FV300 series vehicles? "no comment"

9.2.2013

- apparently there are not enough British turretted tank destroyers for a whole branch (Q: "Are the rumors that there aren't enough British turretted TDs unfounded?" A: "They aren't unfounded")
- SerB states that apart from the Luchs, the other vehicles being lifted up one tier didn't really have to be rebalanced, as they were balanced around tier 5 and 6 previously already (they were balanced one tier higher)
- the reason the Panzer II and Panzer III/IV arty tree links were removed is that the devs don't like them, they consider them ugly, confusing and unnecessery
- German Leopard MT branch, French HT and MT alternative branches weren't scrapped, even though they were removed from the new tree, developers will simply add them in future patches
- FV215b TD doesn't have a fully treaverseable turret, it moves only to 45 degrees to each side, it has worse armor than FV215b HT and the gun has 1150 alpha, it's compensated by other characteristics (might not be final, tests will show)
- the reason the British TD branch wasn't published in advance was that it changed a lot in the process, the developers will continue in this trend
- E100 armor is bugged, it'll be fixed (example 1, example 2) (SS: if I understand correctly, it's something about the welds and the spaced armor, which does work however)
- tier 7 and 9 companies are not planned
- the changes in the German lower tiers are partially tied to the new German medium branch introduction, which will start from the VK2001DB (SS: don't worry, VK3002DB will be a part of it)
- the British will have more researchable TDs (SS: turreted branch meant)

Storm discusses what pisses people off. Basically it's a huge Q&A brainstorm. Here's the info, gleaned from the comment section:

SS: RU players are asking all sorts of weird and useless bullshit. The prevalent issue people have a beef with seems to be the "sticky" gun barrel (resp. aiming circle) when near some buildings.

- there are no more game modes planned (SS: apart from historical and garage battles), Storm states it's just too big an undertaking, while the developers have many small things to work on
- in the hangar, a mechanism will be implemented to allow players to pre-set their tanks into groups for easier selection
- the "bug" where the aim sticks to a nearby object and slides along them in arcade more (SS: nearby a building the aim goes up for example) cannot be fixed, as it is one of the fundamental flaws of the engine (SS: the issue originates in the fact that while the sniper mode works with the gun axis itself, the arcade mode doesn't, it works with different gun and camera angles and the corellation between them causes the issue)
- the "invisible" flat rail wagons in Ensk will be made brighter
- there will be a new "tank is burning" effect to make the fact the tank is on fire more clear, when it's done it's done
- text chat in battle is not planned to be switcheable off, because it would reduce team interaction
- tracers will recieve a complete overhaul
- it could be possible to remove one map from the random pool - two and more create bad issues during the teammaking phase
- the bug where when you buy gold ammo for silver and switch turret on the vehicle, the currency switches back to gold will be fixed in 8.4
- Storm states that night battles look cool, but gameplay-wise they are really bad
- there will be a sound effect remake, for example special sounds when tracks are hit, when gun is hit etc.
- no random battles skill MM ever!
- no solid gun barrels
- vertical tech tree won't return
- there will be no general limits on the amount of one type of vehicle in companies/CW/etc
- Storm has an idea already how to fix the excessive gun swinging when the vehicle moves over broken surface
- devs are okay with the amount of "paper" tanks and with the game economy
- CS-strike modes (bomb-defuse, VIP assassination) cannot be handled by random players, the game is aimed at casuals, a part of the game playerbase never played games before
- the platoon flood in some battles is not regarded as an issue
- serial AFKers will be punished more, devs already worked out some measures to fight them
- no special client version needed with lowered textures, Storm thinks it's enough to set the textures to minimum
- tank position update frequency (so tanks don't "teleport") won't be changed
- the plans to introduce popular mods directly into the game are being studied, it's not yet sure which mods, it's also not clear whether these mods will be introduced for everyone (SS: as in "maybe only for professional progamerer accounts?)
- no new shell types are planned
- applique armor module won't come in 2013 - takes too much work
- Storm likes the "Strategist music" battle chatter soundtrack, but states it's not for everyone and some find it distracting
- all tank visual models will be re-worked in the future for better detail
- the premium hightier Soviet medium tank will be a T-44 prototype with 85mm gun, won't come in near patches, but it will come in 2013 (SS: So I was right )
- teamdamage punishment system (from ramming) can't be fully automatic as it is impossible to always determine who's to blame
- working lights on tanks (weather etc.) - not in forseeable future
- ingame MP3 player won't be implemented
- dynamic tank naming (SS: Panzer IV with short 75 = Ausf.D, with long Ausf.F2 etc) got scrapped, it would cause confusion
- devs didn't get any proper suggestions how to handle the impact of heavy shells on very light targets (apart from the 3-caliber rule). A player suggested that during a ricochet of very large shell on thin armor, the shell does 25 percent of damage. Storm replies: "And players will whine: 'Why did the tank reflector/box/armor screen/crewmember/dog ate my shell damage?' It would lead to confusion. We thought about it and refused."
- the battle start timer won't be made shorter, as many players use the time to identify the team and tactics
- armor cracking (SS: thinner armor on spots that have been hit previously) won't be implemented
- realistic engine sounds (from real tanks) - not anytime soon, as it is really too complicated, there are very few running condition tanks left
- +-25 pen/dmg random factor won't change
- crewmember models won't be implemented into the game
- trollplatoons won't be disabled (eg. no limit on what tanks can platoon with what)
- multiturret mechanism is not planned until 2015
- low-tier HEAT shells will get a nerf
- Sixth sense won't be remade so it would keep the lightbulb icon lit for the whole time the tank is spotted, it would be imbalanced

- Storm doesn't see unusual/buggy amount of "teleporting" tanks
- players won't be able to test tanks without entering the test server (technical reasons)
- map clickspam won't be remedied for technical reasons
- module menu won't be made transparent
- it's not planned to implement a feature where you will be able to recognize whether you are lighting up the enemy or someone else is
- the fact crews "forget" previously trained tanks won't be changed
- prem tanks won't be possible to sell for gold (not even for reduced amount)
- there will be no official WG module layouts and armor schematics for vehicles
- KV-5 won't be buffed and its MM won't be improved, it would be imbalanced otherwise

- M4 and Panzer IV gold derp shells will be nerfed. How - Storm is still deciding.
- El Halluf slopes will be fixed (they cause too many detracks of light tanks)

- SerB describes how weird low-damage hits are the result of residual damage, shell damage that hits external modules (gun, tracks) and penetrates into the hull diminishes its damage (and penetration) by the amount of the module HP (for example if a 200 DAM shell hits tracks that have 50hp, penetrates them and the armor behind them and does damage the tank itself, the damage on the tank will be 150)
- the screenshot Panzer I is the Ausf. B - the Ausf. A might go to the Chinese tree
- Panzer I won't have regular 7,92mm ammo, because it's ineffective
- current average arty amount per team per battle is around 3, but SerB states this statistic is worthless, because it's not natural, it's caused by hardcap
- French hightier vehicles without autoloaders still planned

11.2.2013

- SerB states that as a writer, he doesn't make much money, it's the computer games that pay the bills
- fully customizable writings on tanks won't be implemented
- after tier 10 arty is implemented, arties will get roughly the same +-2 MM as the other tanks
- it's not confirmed that SU-14 and S-51 will stay on their tiers

A: Looks like 3) is not a fake, as for 5) - entirely possible on the early 100t variant. As for the rest - more or less probable, we'll see.

- confirmed: Leopard and VK2801 won't get buffed (SS: apart from the HP? unclear) when they are pushed one tier higher, nothing will change for them

Japanese tanks answers:

- SerB states that the vehicle designated Type 5 "Tok" is a 300mm mortar, analogical to the Type 4 Ha-To, based on the Type 4 Chi-Ri or Type 5 Chi-Ri hull
- about the guns bigger than 105mm installed on the Ho-Ri chassis: "Most likely a 120mm naval gun. There were projects with 140mm gun, passed from the fleet to the coastal defense, but I do not have accurate data yet"
- O-I project was allegedly designed with other guns that came earlier than the 105mm: "We don't have any data on that yet. It's possible a 150mm howitzer was considered earlier, because on the early project of colonel Iwakuro this gun is mentioned specifically"
- SerB states that the Type 96 heavy is possibly the Iwakuro tank
- the "visible modules" (SS: for example different tracks in winter) are considered for the "big model overhaul", but no info yet
- hitting a turret rotation mechanism won't cause fires
- it's completely possible that in next patches, the same thing as happens to the German light tanks in 8.4 will happen to the light tanks of the other nations (eg. T-50, Chaffee and others getting pushed one tier up)

- when a shell penetrates an armor screen (spaced armor) or tracks, it doesn't change its trajectory

Confirmed German new top LT: RU215


- it's not yet decided what will happen to equipment meant for medium tanks (rammers etc.) on a VK3601 tank, when it turns into a heavy. Storm will tell before the patch.
- VK2801 was nerfed because it has a different MM now, it won't drop into hightier battles (removed from MM tiers 11 and 12)
- FV215b HESH shell is not deemed overpowered, as it has its own flaws: it explodes on spaced armor and external modules and doesn't do full damage, it also doesn't have normalisation
- after cutting the VK2801 MM, Germans now don't have a top tier LT. "Keep an eye on following patches"

15.2.2013

- it's not yet clear how much XP will the CGC cost- according to Storm, the FV215b 183mm gun is not overpowered: "Full damage is difficult to deal. The HESH shells don't use normalisation and they explode on tracks, gun, mantlet and spaced armor. And the vehicle itself is paper-armored. In regular random battles it will be very difficult to survive while dealing full gun damage.

- if I interpret this correctly, the new German tier 8 LT (RU251) will lead to Leopard the way Chinese LT branch leads back into the medium one
- Recon skill gives 0,2 percent view range bonus per each 10 percent skill, if the observation device is broken however, it's 2 percent per 10 percent skill
- Storm states World of Tanks uses 2 processor cores - one fully, one partially
- German Somua S35 won't have its MM spread reduced, the tank is doing fine statistics-wise

So far for the classic source. Now, Storm opened a new blog thread where he talks about the bugs and issues of patch 8.4. Here's a summary of this thread:
- IS-3 nose armor (shape) is not correct, it'll be fixed (SS: no details)
- HE damage to suspension will be increased (SS: okay, this is something I really don't understand as I didn't know there is an issue with HE damage and suspension: the question is "Will there be full damage to tracks with HE shells in the following patch?" and the answer is "yes")
- a new function was added - now you can select shell type even when the countdown is running at the beginning
- the new tutorial is only the first part, there will be other parts, where the player will fight bots and learn how to react in certain situations
- Brit TD HESH shells are not overpowered according to Storm, they just look that way, just as the MT HESH shells looked OP during the first test, in reality the spectacular crits won't be common
- new tracers are considered more realistic
- the British TDs are going to be released roughly the way they are now, especially the Tortoise - Storm says it has bad armor, that's why it has so much HP
- T71 hull will not be changed (SS: some player complained it's not "historical")
- currently there is a bug with Radeon graphic cards, it will be fixed (SS: the screenshot was deleted but from the description, the picture is too dark and there are some strange objects)

- in the future there might be working machineguns, SerB is considering options, for example to use them for target designation. But nothing is certain (they certainly won't work as "usual" weapons, as SerB states the amount of projectiles calculated would crash the server)
- a player complained that when he is in a platoon, the platoon is very often on the bottom places of the team - Storm answers that the vehicles are balanced according to their weight and not to correspond in each team, it's not a bug

- according to Storm, ramming collision model works fine (SS: player was complaining that tracks eat up way too much ramming damage)
- Storm is testing, whether the new Nvidia drivers from yesterday work properly with WoT (SS: so far, according to Russian feedback, the new drivers work just fine)
- apparently, there is no "excessive" damage, external modules don't eat damage (SS: players were complaining about tracks and gun eating damage and only the leftover damage being transferred to the enemy tank HP, Storm says there is no such thing)
- track repair time based on the speed the vehicle was going when detracked won't be implemented
- later vehicles such as Abrams, Challenger and T-72 will NOT be implemented
- it's not yet decided how the EU tree crewmembers will work, it's too soon to tell

Japanese time! (as requested, I will try to translate this part as precisely as possible):

Q: Were there many variants of the O-I tank? I found some mentions that for both the early and the late variants, more variants of turret placement were considered. Was there an O-I on Hara suspension? Were there any other suspensions? Is it true that the late variant was heavier than 130 tons? When did the Japanese start working on them - 1937? 1938? If the info on the 75mm cannon is confirmed, will it be possible to stretch the O-I from tier 5 to tier 8, like it happened with the Tortoise prototype in the British TD branch? Or is this not really needed?
A: We know of 3 variants of turret placement and of 4 variants of suspension, including the one with "40 roadwheels". The "Hara" suspension is one of the variants. Maximum weight reached is 140 tons. The work started as really difficult this year, as very few documents arrived. As for the tier spread, there are still unresolved questions. We can clearly cover tiers 7 to 9, Iwakuro tank goes to T6 normally with its 150mm (much like the 152mm KV-2), but we have problems with tier 4 and 5

Q: What are those 4 variants of suspension?
A: Hara, Bugatti, Interwoven single torsion bar, Interwoven double torsion bar

Q: Did the Japanese 80-wheeled supertank have torsion bar suspension? Was it multiturreted? Were more main gun caliber variants considered?
A: We assume, that the "40-wheeler" had both multiturret and singleturret variants. Tier 10 will be singleturreted. The guns will most likely be one 140mm gun, but if necessery, we can consider also 127mm and 150mm.

Q: Will the T10 TD based on the Chi-Ri?
A: Not yet decided. Known vehicles based on Chi-Ri (Ho-Ri 1 and Ho-Ri 2) would normally go on tier 8, since they are almost fully comparable to the Ferdinand. High tiers were not yet decided.

Q: Were the Ho-Ri I and II open-topped?
A: On canonical drawings they are shown as closed

Q: And what about Type 95, wouldn't it fit the role of Tier 4 heavy?
A: Type 91 and 95 both would normally go to tier 3, they are weak for tier 4. In the end it is possible to push Type 95 to tier 4 (and we'll probably do that anyway), but it would be better to find something else

- US H.L.Yoh tanks are being considered, but the tree won't yet be disclosed
- new unique crew abilities? "We haven't found any suitable ones yet, when we do, we will make"
- the devs want to focus on winter maps now, there will be fewer sand maps for now
- Q: "All tier 10 heavies lost their meaning!" A: "Checked your stats, shrugged, didn't read further"

Now there are the Soviet Churchills and Valentines, will you remove them too because we have the British branch?" A:"Nah, we'll just remove the British."
- Storm suggests players use the Nvidia driver 306 series
- it's not possible to leave permanent track marks, the client wouldn't handle it
- the gold shells were not nerfed in order to richochet more (SS: that's a popular conspiracy theory)

- the German LT branch will merge into the medium Leopard-1 one (RU251 - T9 Leo prototype)
- it's pointless to ask if T110E5 statistics are "historical", since that tank existend only on paper
- regarding the Chinese tanks' characteristics, all the data came from the Chinese partners, they come from the development documents on those tanks
- artillery vehicles were unarmored even in real life, the weight of the gun forced the developers to remove armor because of the weight
- there won't be a special voice command that the loader would say when the gun is loaded, SerB thinks the breech clanking is enough
- SerB on capturing bases: capture points are accumulated on each tank in the base circle separately, 1 point per second (maximum 3 per second in total, eg. 3 tanks) - if there are 4 tanks in the circle, only 3/4 "collect" capture points, if 5 then 3/5 etc.
- devs prefer open maps, because they load the server and client less, but city maps (such as "Ruinberg") are also in development (SS: I heard a rumor 8.5 will bring 2 maps - one winter city map (possibly Stalingrad) á la Himmelsdorf, one an open "Mexico" map)
- no player-designed maps option in forseeable future
- it's possible the devs will introduce a hangar option that you will be able to see the effective armor thickness on various places of your tank, but not soon
- no customizable decals/inscriptions on tanks
- Q: "Why can't we change the colors of the tanks the way you can change the color of the planes in WoWp?" A: "So we don't have pink tanks"

Q: There is talk on European forum about 20t STA LT variant. To be honest, it feels like an attempt to bring a LT8 out of thin air, but I'll ask: do you have info on anything like that?
A: LT based on STA is not planned. We have no info on 20ton version.

Q: The same goes for Chi-Ru medium tank. Also a fake? (earlier this name was attributed to a twin-barreled TD)
A: We don't have any reliable sources on Chi-Ru. Maybe it's a fake, maybe there was such a project.

Q: How did the Chi-To prototype differ from the planned mass-produced version? Which version will be introduced?
A: Most likely it differend by having a cast turret - such turrets were developed for Chi-To, Chi-Nu and Chi-Ri, but the work was not finished.

Q: What kind of premium Japanese tank will there be in advance before the whole Japanese branch, if any?
A: Won't tell for now. The branch is still worked on, so the tanks can be shifted here and there.

Q: If the upper limit of the O-I weight is 140t, what is the lower limit? Do you believe there was a significantly smaller 100t or less version?
A: We don't have any data on O-I variants lighter than 100 tons.

Q: Do these naval SPG's (one, two) count as TD's in the game?
A: Most likely yes, TD's.

- Q: "Dear devs, you wrote that the IS-7 is an example of an overnerfed tank. If you were to remove it, what tank would it be replaced with?" A: "We'd likely remove it totally" (SS: without replacement). SerB also stated that if IS-7 had its real life parameters, he'd be on tier 12-13, the most nerfed parameters are currently speed (IRL 60 km/h), ROF. There was a real parameter IS-7 during the alphatest - it was terribly overpowered
- out of T-44, T-54 and T-62A, SerB considers the T-44 most popular
- on T9 there is Lorraine and not AMX-13/105, "because we simply think Lorraine is better"
- further tank customisation - in far future (it's possible that in far future, hull and track models will also be changed)
- the coefficient of how much silver do you get when winning and losing is the same for all tanks, but SerB states the system is much more complex
- E-100 8.4 change? "upper frontal plate angle configuration"
- the same (gold) round has different parameters for different guns (D-25, BL-9), because it's historical
- SerB likes the work of V.Vysotsky (SS: a known Russian songmaker)

Japanese answers:

Q: When the first post-war Japanese tank was being developed, the plan for the tank was 20 tons with a 76 mm gun, which was changed to a 25 ton tank with a 90 mm gun due to the T-34 during the Korean War. However, the mockup team for the 25 ton proposal realized that the armor would be too thin to deal with bazookas and anti-tank missiles, which was why uparmoring lead to the 35 ton Type 61. Based on this history (as can be read in the Japanese wikipedia article on the Type 61), couldn't a Tier 6 and Tier 7 light tank be possible? (SS: please note that the question didn't sound like this, this is more like an explanation)

A: These tanks (20t 76mm/25t 90mm STA) were only "sets of requirements", they weren't developed industry-wise. Technically, they could be introduced into the game, but there are relatively big differences between light tanks that saw combat and these "requirement" tanks. So they (STA tanks) will most likely remain as medium tanks.

About the perspective 57mm gun, SerB states it's most likely an adaptation of naval 57mm, it might appear on "Ho-I" and the first "Chi-To" prototype, but SerB's not sure.

- the haystack at Prokhorovka do not work as bushes (no camo bonus)
- there might be additional music added to WoT

Also, as you have already read perhaps, there is a new mod policy going to be implemented. Overlord talks about it on his blog, but so does Storm. Storm's post was actually translated by Overlord, so I won't post that here, but here are some points from Storm's post discussion:

- there will be new extended statistics introduced for each player (for example split of company and random battles statistics)
- apparently the "Damocles sword" artillery aim helper is a cheat according to Storm
- it's theoretically passible 2D hitzone skins will be banned too, it's still discussed
- ENB and SweetFX "shader injectors" (whatever that is) are legal
- if I understand this correctly, "zoom mod" (sniper mode zoom more than usual) will be banned also
- Storm plans to implement "special checking of client files and other measures", will work for bots

W sieci pojawiły się nowe informacje na temat pojazdów mających pojawić się wkrótce w World of Tanks. Źródłem tych informacji są/jest użytkownik mający dostęp do "Super Testu", czyli specjalnego serwera WOT, do którego "klucz" mają tylko nieliczni. W tej niedostępnej części internetu, trwają testy nowości, które mogą pojawić się w najbliższych aktualizacjach.

VK7201 Löwe (Tier 10 HT Niemcy)

Twórcy nie zamierzają zaprzestać na E-100 i Mausie i planują dodać trzeci już 10 tier HT, tym razem VK7201 Löwe. Nie wiemy, kiedy zostanie zaimplementowany do gry. Wprowadzenie tego pojazdu może oznaczać, że powstanie kolejna, nowa gałąź w drzewku technologicznym Niemiec. Nowy Löwe ma posiadać działo 150 mm oraz niehistorycznie gruby pancerz.

- each crewmember gets as much XP for the fight as the tank does (unless a crewmember is wounded)
- AMX-13/90 reload time won't be lowered from 40 to 35s
- at some point, the balance weight of the vehicles of different class but same tier (for HT, MT, TD) might be the same (not soon)

As you know, the patch 8.4 has been announced (comes out tomorrow on Russian server). English full patchnotes for example here.

- when the enemy tanks damagets your periscope (rangefinder, vision device) while being out of range for the damaged visor (but not the repaired one), it will disappear with the next cycle of visibility check (SS: the visibility checks frequency varies from splits of second to up to 3 seconds I think)
- damaging the rangefinder (periscope, visor) works even for open-topped vehicles (SS: there it apparently counts as the binoculars being destroyed)
- the top German (Bundeswehr) LT's and meds won't be Bundeswehr-green, they will be gray
- the devs won't remove the possibility of changing your tank models (remodelling)
- HESH shells in game work just like HE shells, this won't change
- Q: "There are rumors the IS-7 will have the speed increased in 8.5, is it true?" A: "Interesting, where did you here these rumors?" (and after the player posted the source - some blog post) "Ah, okay. Not rumors. I don't read posts/suggestion for tank rebalance at all, because history shows that they're wrong in 99 percent of cases."
- no plans to allow the crews to retrain for tanks of other nations, not even for gold

- the fact the tank in hangar always displays winter camo is a bug
- T69 has a huge gold ammo penetration (300) "for historical and balance reasons"
- M4A2E4 nerf is a "rollback" according to Storm and as for the Ram II, "nerf" is too strong a word
- the LFP Panther thickness is now 50mm for historical reasons - counts for Ausf.G hull (Storm quotes Jentz and Spielberger, posts this picture and quotes this book part as a reason for the LFP lower thickness), Storm also states the numbers WG used fits the Spielberger books (SS: not really, just checked, Spielberger in his book "Panther and its variants" on page 248 clearly states the LFP thickness for Panther Ausf. A, D and G was 60mm, Storm says it's an error in Spielberger's drawing)
- in 8.4, the profitability and repair costs of VK2801 were changed too
- if you have a bug during 8.4 that the textures are way too dark (like here), it can be fixed by setting the texture quality to maximum.
- it's not possible to turn on the removed speed governor consumable during the initial battle countdown simply because noone ask for this option

Well, as you have already heard, Overlord stated the Leopard 1 will come in 8.5. With that in mind, I think it's safe to confirm that the Indienpanzer, Leopard Prototype and Leopard 1 are being supertested atm. There might be screenies, there might be not, we'll see.

Today I skipped all sorts of dumb questions, Russian specific stuff (f.x. when will SerB be in that and that city) and other garbage, lot of SerB trolling again

- Q: "Please do tell me, dear developers, do you plan to give new premium tanks to the Ivans?" A: "Nope, only to Alexei's"
- SerB on the influence of forum members on the game development: "Yes, all the forum projects are the work of an active minority. A minority, but active. That's we we do and we will support the forums, but we are not going to act on every whim of the forum members." (SS: not an exact translation, I hope this way it makes more sense in english)
- the "potential damage dealt" variable is not new (it's been here for 2 years), it's used to calculate certain archievement

A: Somewhere in late 2013. German mediums are to come in 8.5, as for TDs - late autumn - winter I'd say.

A: You already know what is coming for 8.4, I guess. What we have for this year more British tanks, German MT line with Leo (soonish), stretching SPGs to 10 tiers, prolly Japs if they make it.

- no league MM planned (SerB states it's not technically difficult, but not needed)
- it's possible that the HEAT mechanics will be modified so that the gap between armor screen (spaced armor) and the main armor has more effect (SS: if I understood this correctly)

- no additional penalty for drowning will be implemented, as the amount of drowners after implementing full repair costs for drowning dropped substantially
- there are no plans to actually implement damage from battle into the replay filename
- British 6-pdr guns were analogical to the Soviet 57mm ZIS-4 when it came to penetration abilities
- railways on all maps will be made lower (so the tank doesnt rock too much)
- Storm doesn't think the British TDs are overpowered
- Christie tanks will definitely not come in 2013
- Ola got promoted, she doesn't have time anymore (for public WoT appearances)
- it is already decided, what comes in 0.8.5, devs are working on it right now, it will be (also) something else than just a branch of tanks

- new "superheavy" tank class - not certain, but if it comes, most superheavies will be re-classified today's heavies (Maus, E-100) rather than new tanks (SS: the only other nation with superheavies that comes to my mind is Japan)

- if you see some account with the name you want, which played 42 battles and last time logged in one year ago, you can't do anything, such an account counts as active, support won't help you

- separate statistics for damage done when lit by you - not planned
- 8.4 introduced a bug with the display of amount of criticals in post-battle statistics, it's just a display bug - the real amount of crits has not changed

Well, let's have some good news, shall we?

- client side physics (SS: Havok) development is now in full swing
- there will be separate statistics for random battles, companies and clans
- there will be no account reset option, or XP full redistribution
- apparently there will be no new maps for historical battles (and if there are, they have very low prio atm)
- the history battle winnign conditions will probably be the same
- bots in WoT (historical battles)? "not soon and maybe not at all"
- each historical battle will most likely have some description what it was about and where it took place
- in historical battles, tanks will have historical modules and the matchmaking will be special too
- there will most likely be no Soviet tier 8 premium tanks with high penetration, as historically, the soviet shell penetration became better only after the war and the post-war vehicles don't really fit the T8 position when it comes to their other characteristics
- devs were considering the IS-2 version with a M-62 prototype gun for implementation, but there are very few data on it apart from the fact it existed
- "Province" map won't return to high tier battles
- according to Storm, Lowe mobility was not nerfed in 8.4, Lowe also won't become heavier (even though it became bigger)
- PaK 36(r) and Pak 40 have historical penetration in game, it's not decided for now, whether the Marder II, which historically had the PaK 40 will lose the PaK 36(r) when Marder III (that had it) is introduced
- buildings (objects) do not block sound spread, each sound has its own range
- it's possible "battlefield" maps will be introduced, with a lot of destroyed buildings, trenches etc.
- there are no trenches in the game, as the tanks would get stuck in them
- IS-7 won't be in historical battles

6.3.2013

- according to SerB, tanks where one crewmember fills more rolls are not disadvantaged against tanks, which have one member for each role
- teamdamage by ramming does prevent you from gaining sniper medal, it's intentional
- when the tank is burning and moving at the same time, the module crit probability does not increase
- there are no plans to increase probability of premium tanks to meet each other in battle
- there are no plans to introduce a premium tank with better characteristics than a regular tank of its tier, but worse MM
- there won't be premium tier 7 tanks with autoloaders
- Q: "Will there be special awards for playing low-DPS tanks?" A: "Gief, gief free stuff!"
- there is already the function to change nickname, but there won't be the function to change the account e-mail anytime soon - devs are afraid of account hijacks and theft

- WG does take the "playability" of tanks into account when making new lines, SerB states this is the reason why T-60, T-70 and T-80 was delayed for so long
- SerB on "losers": "When someone else owns, someone loses. Sorry, we can't make both teams win."
- statistics won't show in the damage section, with how many shells the damage was archieved
- "Expert" medal won't be awarded for killing the teamkillers on our own team, as it would get abused (SerB: "I'll go with my friend Vasja to a random battle, Vasja starts shooting teammates and I will shoot Vasja. Profit!!111")

- apparently, the unhistorical T71 will be remodelled "if necessery - so far it's not really necessery".

- Clanwars are still considered to be in beta stage, that's the reason for the often CW breaks
- Q: "How come the AT-15A is such a poor farming machine and SU-100Y is much better?" A: "I won't give you any farming guarantees" (SS: which means - whenever a premium vehicle comes out, wait for a while before you buy it, according to SerB the fact it's a premium tank does not apparently mean it's going to be a viable moneymaker - statistically-wise, AT-15A seems to make about as much credits due to its low alpha as a regular T7 vehicle)
- regarding the (still existing) bug where when you buy a golden shells for silver and when you fire all of them, the game starts buying new ones for gold - "don't use automatic ammo reload"
- premium tanks profitability is set so, that in the hands of a statistically average player, a (for example) tier 8 premium tank has to earn more credits on everage than a tier 7 regular tank, there are no exceptions to this rule
- when calculating the profitability (SS: from the previous answer), premium account is not taken into consideration
- the gold price in the shop is proportional to the tank profitability, but the corellation between the two is not linear
- there will be a new tutorial (part 2) where the modules etc. will be described
- the same turret on different hulls can have different rotating speeds (SS: concerns the KV series)
- Storm considers these railway models in the new Live Oaks normal (SS: thanks god Storm doesn't work on the real railway)
- Dragon Ridge and Serene Coast will not return in 0.8.5
- this year, there will be winter maps, jungle maps - most likely not
- the idea that each nation could buy a special "test" crew, that acts as 100 percent for all the tanks, but doesn't gain any silver or XP was not considered
- the devs "did not promise" to return more settings to the old render (SS: not a long time ago, the devs mentioned they won't develop the old render anymore)
- Storm will investigate possible error in JpZ E-100 armor (E-100 has 130mm armor above tracks while the Jpz has only 120mm, despite the fact the hull is supposed to be identical)

- when you hit a drowned tank, the damage doesn't count to your total damage done
- shooting drowning tanks has a reason only to give you extra silver, it won't punish them more, they will already pay full repair costs
- damage awarded for lighting up a target is distributed evenly between all the scouts lighting the target at the time of damage
- SerB doesn't think the tier 7 premium T-44A will be a fail
- HEAT shells (when hitting the engine module) do not have an increased chance to set it on fire, same goes for ammo rack
- the amount of XP needed to train 3+ skills on the crew won't be reduced ("it's set so that you have to choose")

Also, Storm made an article about graphics on the developer blog, where he asks players, what they think of them. Not too much info can be gleaned from it, but some bits perhaps. Please note that I don't understand graphic terms, so some translations might be off.

- shadows won't return to the old render
- old render won't be optimalized, devs won't touch it at all, all the new features will be introduced to the new one
- trees can heavily reduce FPS even on good computers, if that happens, Storm recommends lowering the tree quality

- T23 won't return in forseeable future
- T-50-2 confirmed to be removed out of the game. The tank that will replace it will be transferred to tier 6, but this is not connected with the T-60/70/80 introduction (eg. won't happen in 8.5)

- someone asked StorM, whether the events in Cyprus (eg. government, backed by EU stealing 10 percent of all the bank deposits) did hit Wargaming greatly, Storm said it's not an answer to the developers
- Q: "Why was my question whether the developers are arty players ignored?" A: "Because it's simply stupid. Noone will run from floor to floor and ask people 'dear person, are you an arty player?'"
- new modules for tanks are planned in medium timeframe (SS: that means roughly a year - what this means is for example multiple new guns guns for vehicles so there are more equal builds per vehicle per vehicle possible), it's possible there will be even new module categories
- splash damage is calculated from the damage of the shell (SS: what this means is - from what I can tell - that it doesn't get calculated into the "potential damage" value, as it is derived as secondary)
- current tier 8 arties are scheduled to be switched to tier 9 or 10 (SS: currently, only tier 10 is considered for the switch though, the tier 9 is there to "cover the backs" in case current tier 8 arties are underpowered at tier 10)
- according to Storm, it is not true that one algorhitm is responsible for all the game's randomly generated numbers (damage, penetration etc.)
- regarding the question who gets the kill when two tanks shoot at the enemy at the same time: "Frag will go to the person, whose shot the server processes first."
- if I understand this correctly, additional equipment/module "appliqué armor" (eg. for example German Schurzen) confirmed
- tank camo value does not change depending on whether the tank is facing you with its front or with its side

- Storm on Improved ventilation: Ventilation gives bonus to all skills, to which a bonus can be given. Eg. the bonus should be disoplayed everywhere. There is one catch: the bonus from ventilation is given also to the commander and he - in turn - gives his increased commander bonus to the other members of the crew. So, the total bonus is recieved - 5 percent for the commander and more than 5 percent for the rest of the crew
- the only way how to win when the enemy captured your base (base captured! text displayed) is within the 5 seconds from the capture to destroy the entire enemy team
- the difference in damage between the Soviet and Chinese Zis-4 gun is given by the "gun specifics"
- the 5 second timer between the base capture and the end of the battle is resetted by the destruction of any vehicle - friendly or enemy
- T-90 (as a T-80 variant) AA tank will not be introduced in forseeable future, the top gun of the T-60 is not the 14,5mm MG.
- the ammo rack hitbox is not separated into shells and casings, nor is it planned
- so far, the devs haven't found proper additional skill ideas for the loader
- IS-2 with M52-T2 (SS: according to several people, it's a typo, in fact it should be the 122mm M62-T2 gun) planned as a tier 8 premium? "Theoretically - possible, practically there is not enough information on it and Soviet Union already has a tier 8 heavy"

- according to the wot-news.com server, the test of the 8.5 patch will start in April, while the patch itself already has a date roughly decided internally ("few weeks before May") - eg. mid April
- Q: "Is there a chance bigger than 0 percent that during the big changes to the game, the significance of armor will return?" A: "000,1 percent chance is bigger than 0 Otherwise: no comment"
- you get 1,333 times more XP for damage dealt to enemy tank you yourself light up than when someone else lit it up for you
- Storm explains why AMX ELC is not called ELC Bis: "AMX is a company, not the name of the tank, bis - means 'modification', but since our ELC doesn't include only that modification designated as "ELC bis", it's possible to remove it from the name"
- SerB regarding the same issue: "The question (SS: why it's ELC and not ELC bis) is stupid and not worthy of an answer. - "funny" archievements such as "lumberjack" (for running over trees) have been abandoned a long time ago in order not to encourage improper behavior in battle
- people are actually already asking about what will be the next New Year present, SerB: "And do you also harass your mommy and daddy about christmas presents in March?"

Storm also wrote a new article about teamdamage - he's asking players how happy they are with the current system basically. Not too much interesting info in it (just a bunch of usual moaning). Just one thing - Storm wrote in a comment that since 0.8.4, the sniper medal is not connected with ramming. Apparently there was a bug if I understand correctly, that you lose the sniper medal when an allied moron rammed you and it's fixed now. Not sure I get it right.

- it's still too early to consider implementing a Japanese premium tank (which might come before the branch itself like the Type 59 did)
- the new (Russian) voiceover didn't change the voice mechanics, just the voices themselves
- multi-voice voiceover (one voice for driver, one for commander etc.) won't be implemented, Storm says they thought about it but decided not to do it because they thought it was confusing
- there will be some small client optimalisations (SS: not clear from the question when, presumably in 8.5)
- developers are considering the voiceover options at this moment, including the distorted realistic voices (like from radio)
- regarding the argument the T-80 is too weak for tier 4: "you'll see during the test"
- a tip from Storm regardint the new tier 10 Soviet medium: "don't accumulate XP until you see the new tech tree", the same goes for the AMX-30 French branch
- 8.5 will not bring the T-50-2 replacement, the T-60/70/80 branch does not influence the T-50 or T-50-2
- according to Storm, the Chinese tank designations came from the Chinese partners, they are historical
- another ammo type: "not for now"
- there is no additional bonus XP for destroying the whole enemy platoon, nor is it planned

- Sixth Sense will not be touched by devs atm, but Storm says that more than a buff this skill needs a nerf

Regarding the Russian "famous actors" voiceover, Storm admits that they screwed it up, there are bugs in it, some phrases are incorrectly dubbed etc., they will fix it. The current voiceover is a test version, not the final one.
However, Storm says that it's "completely possible" each tank will have a voiceover in language of its crew (French crews speak French etc.).

- AMX-13 won't get two revolver autoloaders it had in real life (because for reloading the vehicle had to stand still and the crew had to get out)
- AMX-13/105 won't appear in WoT
- T57 Heavy has more shells on board than it had in real life - balance
- the AMX 50 1955 model with improved armor is not planned for now, WG doesn't have more pictures of the uparmoured version than the one posted by the player:






- Does WG plan to release a new strategy game? "We don't announce anything for now" (SS: combined with the information that the GPG studio works on a new MMO game for Wargaming, I think we can see where this is going: MMO RTS)
- WG has enough tanks planned for 3 more years at least
- the possibility to turn regular tanks into premium ones won't be implemented in forseeable future - "premium tanks have to have obvious weaknesses compared to the regular ones"

- M18 Hellcat will NOT become a premium tank (SS: for some reason, every now and then RU forums start a rumor that *random tank* will become a premium vehicle, this rumor probably started when someone mistook the M18 and its 105mm howitzer prototype T88)
- SerB on the question why the PaK 43 (88 L/71) looks different on Tiger and on Panther II: "Yes, we'd like to make that gun into two different gun models, but the whiner part of forum would commit suicide if we did that"
- amphibious tanks are difficult to implement, according to SerB - they don't cause bigger client load directly, but in order to implement them, there have to be bigger maps, when those come, amphibs might come also
- there will be no special map-based MM ("You have no idea how much and what garbage was suggested...")
- press accounts can really select what maps they want to play, because their owners don't just play, they work and sometimes, they need a demonstration of exact maps.
- questions regarding the map statistics (for example the winrates, popularity etc. of respective maps) won't be answered by SerB, he noted they should be asked during some interview with specialised map developers

- PaK40 and PaK36(r) penetrations will not be changed, they are historical according to SerB (SS: some sources state that the PaK40 had better penetration)
- there will be no recoilless guns
- the effect of German interwoven suspension on German vehicle properties is already modelled properly
- Q: "In recent interview with H.Doyle, he mentioned there was not a single case repoted of fire caused by shooting the tank in the frontal part. Will the fires caused by shooting German tanks in the lower frontal armor be fixed?" A: "In Lord of the Rings, there was not a single mention of Aragorn's trousers (let alone underpants), which proves irrefutably: Aragorn is walking around butt-naked!"
- SU-85 with 100mm gun won't return
- KV-1S won't be split into more tanks
- Hetzer has a medium-caliber rammer even for the 105mm FH, because the rammer is a part of the vehicle, not gun
- D-25 gun will not be changed to resemble the 88mm L/71 accuracy

BTW, the questions from PaK40 down were asked by a single person. In total, he recieved 98 days of RO ban for "asking stupid questions"

VK7201 Part Deux
Hello everyone,

best of to react before this gets out of hand In the morning, I published an article "VK7201 - fake or not", where I wrote about the history of the VK7201. I expected some more outrage, but instead, some people just took it.

Without further ado: I made the thing up.

Well, not totally everything - I mean, the general part about the Lowe tank is true, even the Spielberger's book exists, but there was never any such a thing as "Feldhaubitze auf Infanterieunterstützungfahrgestell" - I made the name "Failowe" up too.

Why did I do it? Because generally speaking, if you cite reputable sources and publish it as "serious material", noone will doublecheck the sources and very few people will question it. And that's what I believe Yuri Pasholok did with this design. He simply pulled it out his ass (god knows why, there were many more historical and interesting vehicles) and when he got called on his bullshit, he started squirming. Neither the Panzer Tracts nor Spielberger's book on special tank variants mention anything about a rear-turreted 120ton supertank with 200+ mm frontal armor and 150mm L/38 (what was considered for the Lowe was the L/40). It's a fake and Wargaming should feel shame for peddling this crap.

Of course, as any good fake, it has SOME part of the truth. The vehicle is obviously modelled as a Lowe variant (turret) by Krupp (internally, it's referred to in WG as VK7201(K) ), the model comes from the early "Leichter Lowe" impressions (VK7001), but as the name suggest, 7201 means "72 tons, 1st design" - so it doesn't even make sense to name a 120 ton tank like that. Could have such a design existed in the mind of some Krupp engineer? Sure, but the fact it could have existed doesn't mean it did. I can understand why Wargaming filled some slots with "less-than-real" tanks such as the E50M - simply because it was needed and no other vehicle was found to fit, but making the vehicles randomly up? Uh... no.

Anyway, that's the end of the rant. I will keep on calling the VK7201 a Failowe - it's fitting, a fake name for a fake tank.

- Yuri Pasholok: the T-80 tier 4 light tank could have a Soviet 76mm gun
- there is a rumor going around that the tier 10 tanks (M60, Object 907, Failowe) will be a part of a special Clanwars event, held during the official "CW season closure" (SS: just a rumor, not confirmed, take it or don't).
- tanks will not be transferrable for gold to another nation ("Players make a lot if idiotic proposals. We can't comment on them all, sorry")
- SerB states that the visibility duration (3-10 seconds) for a given tank aren't random, but rather cyclic. In other words, if two tanks light each other up simultaneously, it's possible that tank 1 will disappear for tank 2 sooner than tank 2 for tank 1
- the gold consumable prices for credit will principially be calculated as 50g*400 (credits per gold) = 20000s, but this price is not guaranteed
- VK3601H is transferred to the heavy tank category because "it's needed"
- Q: "New German tanks carry Bundeswehr crosses, yet earlier you said it's technically impossible for a single nation to have two symbols, how is it then?" A: "It's the first step to archieve the goal of having all the tanks carry red stars"

Overlord answers the questions in Russian regarding the World of Tanks Blitz (he became a producer-chief for the mobile division it seems):

- The requirements will be the Ipad 2,3,4, Iphone 4,5 (he's not sure about the 4), for Android port he says it's complicated, but it should work on Nexus 7 for example, it won't work on "budget smartphones" (as in, cheap), it apparently needs Tegra 3 SoC.
- the battles will be realtime 7v7
- the vehicle grind will be faster than in WoT PC
- turret control is still secret
- account will be shared with WoT apparently

- it's possible the new German medium branch will not start from the VK3002DB after all, but with VK2801 and the recon Panther - if that happens, SerB states there will be no compensations for VK3002DB XP many people collected for the Indienpanzer.

No to w tym momence nie powiem troche się wkurzylem, bo od  mniej wiecej roku byla mowa o tej linii zaczynajacej się wlasnie od VK 3002 DB. ale teraz przed aktualizacja pewnie zmienia, w cholere ludzi przetransferuje exp za zloto i kasa się kreci.

- suspension damage has no influence on "passability thru terrain" hiden parameter
- there will be no alternative German heavy "Lowe"branch
- SerB states that the rumors about secret tank mobility nerfs are just rumors
- entire crew might be killed by a single penetrating (!) HE hit, HE shells that don't penetrate are subjected to the "no more than half a crew killed by one shot" rule
- shells fired in 3rd person view do not fly closer to the aim circle center than in sniper mode (A: "Go play tetris")
- no actual info about the Expert medal (SS: a guy complained that his team, while hunting for the medal, abandoned defensive positions and started chasing the poor target 113 around and lost, SerB answers: "Stop with the 'mommy, why are we such retards' questions, we aren't the ones you should ask")
- the ability of one tank to push another is a complicated parameter, consisting of engine power, suspension quality, weight of the tank and terrain slope - these forces combine and get compared to the motion vector, it's not simply explained
- dynamic parameters in garage don't have high priority
- the bug where very thin fences slow down the tank a lot will be fixed
- subcaliber rounds do have normalisation (the same as AP rounds), normalisation is calculated after it is decided by the engine whether the shell ricochets or not (so it cannot influence stuff like the "auto-ricochet" rule)

8.5 - Patch notes
Well, this is a bit odd. Someone, writing as anonymous, wrote a comment under the recent daily translation that he hates me because I am arrogant, but that he's going to share this anyway (the post ended up in spam folder).

This is NOT confirmed, keep that in mind, some items are... suspicious.

List of changes in 0.8.5 version in comparison with version 0.8.4:

- P.43bis might have the same gun as the Semovente 105/25 (most likely nothing longer)
- apparently there were no Japanese SPG's developed based on the superheavy tank chassis, as the tanks themselves were barely properly developed
- regarding the possibility that the top Japanese tank destroyers will be modified superheavy chassis projects with 155mm+ guns - "we'll see"
- according to SerB, new re-worked maps don't have less cover from arty, their surface was levelled in order to allow better maneuvering
- the situation with arty around tier 10 is still not satisfactory according to SerB, but it'll get better (SS: with the T10 arty introduction)
- there will be no 4 man platoon
- completely destructible environment would require several times more powerful servers than what WG now has, unrealistic
- real unit emblems will not be introduced, SerB doesn't want SS "Totenkopf" symbols in game (not even for historical battles)
- when using a repair kit in game, the cost of that module repairs is not included in the final repair costs for the battle, SerB states that using repair kits is more expensive even for hightier tanks, he also states that while the price for module repairs is different for each module, repair kit is always more expensive
- it's planned that when a burning tank drives into water, the water will extinguish the fire
- WG doesn't use much outsourcing when creating ingame models
- 0.8.6: tier 10 arty plus British arty
- Q: "SerB, what will you do with forum trolls?" A: "I'll go feed one"
